New River Press are accepting submissions for the third annual open submission poetry anthology until December 1st 2019.

The Yearbook is at the centre of what we do as a publisher. An oblique and kaleidoscopic portrait of the year in poems. A community-minded tribute to the eclectic and democratic. Poets we admire running free rein in a garden city of eulogies, manifestos, and love songs.

The anthology is a meeting ground for the emerging and established. Our 2019 book featured over 200 people - many then new to us, now the objects of our affection. It’s a chance for us to reach out to our favourite poets and ask for poems. A venue to preview forthcoming New River collections from Afshan Shafi, Greta Bellamacina, Chris McCabe, Ana Seferovic , Niall McDevitt , Robert Montgomery , and Robert Lundquist. It is the brainstormed blueprint of our future endeavours.

There is no particular theme. Please send no more than three poems and do not send them in PDF format.

The book opens like a school yearbook with portraits of every poet. Please include with your poems a passport photo of yourself. Or something more passporty and less a reflection of yourself daydreaming in a glass of red wine. A simple selfie will suffice.

Send work to: newriver@thenewriverpress.com by December 1st.

With love, NRP xxx
